Preschool Walk-a-Thon

Megan participated in her first fundraiser for her preschool--a Walk-a-Thon!  She was proud to tell me that she finished 6 laps around the gym, but because I was there, I know the kids did many more--6 just happened to be the number of times she actually stopped to get her card marked. :-)  It was cute to watch her class walk, run, jump, skip, move the cones, chase each other, etc.

Grandpa and Kay-Kay Visit

We had a lovely weekend with my Dad and Kay (Meg's Grandpa and Kay-Kay).  We all went to the state capital building and looked around, ate at a couple of Megan's favorite places (Arris' and Freddy's), and had plenty of playtime at the house.  The pics here will show a few races--Megan loves to race, though she's a bit of a cheater--haha--she starts a little early each time to make sure she wins.  :-)

My Turn!

Well, it happens every year--I get a year older!  It was my turn for a birthday celebration today.  It was a great day!!  I relaxed at home while Megan was in preschool this morning, then we all went out for Mexican food tonight, then ate my "pumpkin" decorated cookie-cake, finally followed by card and gift time.  I am blessed and thankful!!  The sweetest parts of the day revolved around Megan (though Garrick is also quite sweet!).  This morning when we woke her up for school, the conversation went like this:
G:  Megan, what day is it today?
M (big smile):  MY BIRTHDAY!
G:  Remember, it's Momma's birthday today!
M:  Oh, right!
G:  Would you like to sing "Happy Birthday" to her?
M:  Of course!  (bursts into song...)
The other moment was at card/gift time tonight.  Megan had really gone to town "coloring" the card and envelope she gave me.  G gave her the card to bring to me, and she slyly smiled and told me to close my eyes and hold out my hands (pictured above).  She was so excited to have me open her card and read it out loud.  She's just precious.  I love my little family!!

What A Fun Halloween!

Megan was SO into Halloween this year, which made it so much fun for all of us.  Her day started with preschool and their Fall Party, where they played games in the gym, decorated sugar cookies, and painted mini-pumpkins.  They also got to walk through the administrative offices for candy!  Tonight, we joined a couple of families (co-workers of G) for trick-or-treating in their neighborhood.  Oh my word, Meg loved it!!  We ended the evening with a reading of the wonderful Halloween classic, It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!.
